Even before breakfast, Richard patched the flat tire, which turns out to be completely worn out. It really needed replacing. Daan takes the bike to the bicycle repair shop in Koudekerke and a few minutes later the bike is like new again. What a nice quick action. We drive to the boomfiets which stands along the dike near the church in Zoutelande, it is half past ten and Daan and family are already waiting, Jan joins later. Sanne and Yka are cycling today, Richard is driving the camper, Daan and Marga the car with trailer. Actually on such a day as today everyone wants to cycle, beautiful scenery here in Zeeland along the coast and nice weather, with a bit of a tailwind. We cross the island to the north, so not along the coast, a nice bike route, and a nice parade with the recumbents behind the tree bike. We have lunch near Vrouwenpolder, before going up the Oosterscheldekering and passing the island of Neeltjejans. Impressive to cycle there with a fragile little tree. Richard takes shots with the drone, and Sanne and Yka also take photos and videos. Of course we want to capture this well. We get many nice positive reactions, people tell us that they heard or saw it on Omroep Zeeland. Occasionally our parade gets even bigger when people join in. Wonderful. On a very wide stretch of asphalt, I let the tree bike make big swings and ask everyone to swing along. That should make a nice picture. When we arrive on Schouwen-Duiveland, we are soon in Burgh Haamstede. And in the center of Burgh-Haamstede we cycle to the Bewaerschole. A gallery and place of culture. We put down the map with little trees on it and with the visitors around the circle I tell about our adventures and goals of special trip. We hand out little trees and take a picture with all of them. A nice relaxed atmosphere. At the Bewaerschole we say goodbye to Daan, Maaike and their three children. It was again a very nice meeting. And also our Daan, Marga and Yka leave us. Daan will return on Sunday and also Marga and Yka will definitely come along for the final day next Saturday. Richard brings them to Zoutelande where Marga’s car is parked. We park the tree bike under the big tree of the Bewaerschole and I ride with Sanne in our e-camper to Rockanje, where we stay at the Badhotel for two nights sponsored by the hotel. On the way I have a good conversation with Sanne about my way of leadership and how I can still improve it. It’s nice that we can talk about that. At the hotel we find the newly delivered trees this afternoon. We have a drink on the terrace and when Richard returns we load some of the trees into the trailer and have dinner in the restaurant. What a beautiful day to cycle in Zeeland with a tree, beautiful weather and the wind at our backs. Who wouldn’t want that.
