After breakfast we park the bus and trailer and drive to Montagnana, the beautiful fortified town with about nine thousand inhabitants. We walk into the town hall, which we are already standing next to with the tree bike and are warmly welcomed by the assistant to the mayor if I am correct, the mayor Lovato Gian Paolo is not there but the deputy mayor does come walking in enthusiastically after a few minutes. We tell our story, take a picture, give a tree and a forest book. They indicate they would like to join the Circle4Change family. Top. Then it is time to hit the road, it is noon and already warm. Sanne and Daan bike along, Richard follows with the car. After a few kilometers we cycle into Bevilacqua where there is a beautiful castle. At the town hall we ring the bell because the door is closed and five minutes later we sit at the table with the mayor Marco… The village or town is small and has sixteen hundred inhabitants. The mayor takes our picture and is interested in joining us. This is going well today. We cycle on but not fast. The landscape is somewhat cluttered, or do you say varied? Some roads have really busy traffic at high speeds, which is not pleasant to have to cycle along briefly. Then just as we are well and truly leaving the garage I notice that the rear brake is losing power and later I see that brake fluid is leaking. Once again, it’s Friday afternoon. Annoying. Better check it tomorrow, in this flat area only a front brake is doable too, but it needs to be fixed quickly. Around 7:30 we park the tree bike next to the cemetery in Stradelle, ten minutes from Montava which is our final destination for today. Quite right then. While eating at bistrot Antonella I find out that she knows the mayor and that he is not available tomorrow on Saturday, but we can leave the book and the tree with her.
